Questions re Donations
Will the funds be used to buy shares?
Yes, the administrator agrees that he would like to see the shares held by Bob Brannan transferred to the Society, giving the fans overall control of the club, if we can raise enough money.
Will other investors also become shareholders?
This is an option, and we would seek to partner with local businesses and individuals so that the fans take the lead in a community ownership scheme.
Can I buy shares as an individual?
We are looking into the option of making shares available for individuals to purchase, but the best route is for as many shares as possible to be collectively owned through the Society.
What about the stadium?
The club has a lease on the stadium and currently no rent to pay. While we would of course like to see the stadium return to the club’s ownership, there is no immediate need to do so while the initial funding target needs to be met. The Society may look to buy the stadium in the future, if the possibility arises.
What happens to the funds if the club does go out of business?
In that worst-case scenario, it would be up to the members to decide the use of the funds, most likely to create a new club.
