Wullie Tribute

Following the recent passing of one of Dundee FC's most loved fans, Willie Reilly, Dundee Football Club’s CEO Scot Gardiner would like to announce an exceptional tribute to him at this Saturday’s game v Raith Rovers.

Willie was unique and a friend of fans, Players and Directors alike and his dedication to Dundee FC was legendary. Accordingly an exclusive and "once in history" tribute will be paid by the Football Club on Saturday. Following a minute’s applause, all Dundee players will wear and play in the first team shirt with Willie's name proudly emblazoned on the back of the shirt.

This gesture is also only possible thanks to the kind and generous gesture of our current "back of shirt" sponsor Metro Motors/Scott Fyfe Garage and in particular, Ian Falconer who is giving up this sponsorship for the day and we are extremely grateful for such a magnanimous act of respect.

Dundee Football Club would also like to thank the Scottish Football League for allowing us to make this one off tribute.

This has never occurred before at Dundee Football Club and will never happen again but the love and respect shown for Willie at his funeral this week when hundreds of fans, many in the colours of Dundee United and other Scottish clubs backs up our inclination to honour him.

RIP Willie and on Saturday, we know you are with us and are truly still "backing the Dee".
