The Latest from the Penman Lounge
Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 20:15 Ahead of the recent league match against Inverness Caley Thistle we invited some Andy Penman Lounge patrons to predict the score. Not one of them got it right. So before the Scottish Cup quarter final match against Raith Rovers kicked off we decided to give some of the younger fans a chance to see how good their predictions are. Guess what. They were no better than the adults!
We’re not going to remind you what the actual score was (because we’re still hurting) but Calum Findleton, Mark Murray and Leanne Barrie all thought it was going to be 2 –1. Even more optimistically Cara Jolly and Jemma Mitchell went for 3-1, while Edward Flood and Arran McFadyen both confidently predicted 2-0. At least Gemma Barrie got the visitors’ score right when she forecast a 3-2 scoreline!
If it’s any consolation to the youngsters, a certain elder statesman in the main stand (don’t worry Norrie—we’ll not reveal your full identity) was even further out with his prediction. 4-0! If only!
Once again there were four raffle prizes up for grabs, but unluckily for Tam Whitelaw his winning streak came to an end! This time it was Martin Mullady, Paul Shepherd, Neil Ritchie and Grant McEwan who collected the prizes. A signed DFC Hall of Fame shirt donated by Club Dundee went to Martin (pictured, right), a bottle of Cava donated by Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers Ltd went to Paul, while Neil and Grant picked up the Junior DFC tops donated by Tay Taxis, thus depriving Tam of his hat-trick of wins! Prizes were presented by DSA’s Allan Laing (left).
