Mailing Firm Agrees Refund And Donation

We recently wrote to all 4000+ trust members, advising them of our forthcoming AGM and asking them to update their contact details. Long gone are the days of volunteers stuffing envelopes in such numbers, so we contracted the mailshot to a dedicated mailing firm based in England who provided a very competitive quote.

However, like our members, we were shocked to discover the firm had inadvertently put the name “Dundee United” on the return address on the envelopes. This obviously caused considerable upset and may have resulted in a number of envelopes going unopened, and we made it clear to the firm concerned just how angry we were at this error.

We are pleased to announce that after negotiations with ourselves, the firm accepted full responsibility for this blunder and agreed to cancel their invoice in full – which means the Trust saved over £1200. What’s more, they have also generously donated £250 towards the Junior Dees, as a gesture of compensation and to make it clear how sorry they are for any upset caused.
