Calum Melville Backs Dee4Life Trust

The latest member to join Dee4Life, Scotland’s biggest supporters' trust with over 4000 members, is none other than Dundee FC director Calum Melville.

"I’ve been extremely impressed with how Dee4Life, and our other fans’ groups, are involved in assisting the club on a daily basis," said Aberdeen-based Mr. Melville, who joined the Dens Park board in March.

"Directors of some clubs may be wary of having a fans’ rep on the board, but here at Dundee we have a great working relationship with our fans. The Trust is involved in commercial ventures, helping fund the youth setup and organising community activities as well as ensuring the fans are heard in the boardroom," Mr Melville continued.

Having signed up to join Dee4Life himself this week, Mr Melville explained why. "We have a great bunch of fans at Dundee. They have suffered long and hard over the last few years, raising over half a million pounds to help keep the club alive, and since I’ve adopted Dundee as my football team, I’m very proud to join the ranks of Scotland’s biggest supporters’ trust."

Trust secretary Fraser MacDonald expressed his delight at Mr Melville’s backing: "In the context of Scottish football overall, such as Rangers fans trying to get boardroom representation, I think Calum’s statement is very significant."

We recently sent out over 4000 invitations to its AGM which takes place this Saturday, and are asking all members to get in touch and keep their contact details up to date via the Members' Area of the website. Anyone who is not a member can join online, and what’s more, anyone who joins or updates their details by the end of the year will be entered into a free prize draw to win a signed, framed Leigh Griffiths shirt.

We'll also be giving fans the chance to put their questions to their latest fellow member as Calum Melville has agreed to take part in an online Question & Answer session here on the Dee4Life website next week. So watch this space...
